On the 19th March our District Commissioner, Gary, attended a Parents' Evening at the 48th and awarded a whopping 8 Chief Scout Bronze Awards!
This is a massive achievement for all the Beavers who earned their award and is a huge testament to the work that their leaders put in to create an outstanding programme which enables their beavers to learn skills for life. To obtain the award the Beavers had to complete 6 challenge awards and any 4 activity awards. Some of these awards meant working on their teamwork and personal skills whilst also learning outdoor skills such as building fires.
On top of this fantastic achievement, Gary also presented two Woodbadges to the 48th's Scout Leaders, Reece Dowdeswell and Keeliegh Slater, who have spent the last couple of years completing their training and getting their modules validated. A lot of work goes into achieving a Woodbadge and Reece and Keeliegh have achieved it whilst also running their scout section's programme, admin and everything else they do!
A big well done to all those who received awards!
BRAVO!!!!
